Common questions

The app doesn't hear me when I tap the microphone.

On first launch the App asks for permission to access the microphone and Apple Speech Recognition. If you declined either, open iOS Settings → Dashka and turn both back on, then relaunch the App.

The translation appears, but voice playback takes a long time.

For long translations (over a few hundred characters), generating the audio file can take 30 to 45 seconds the first time. After that, the App caches the audio: tapping the speaker button again or sharing the audio file plays back instantly without regenerating.

How do I stop a long voice playback?

While voice playback is in progress, the speaker button on the translation card turns into a red stop button. Tap it to stop playback immediately.

How do I clear my translation history?

Tap the history button (the clock icon in the top-left corner of the App), then tap the "Очистить" (Clear) action. History is stored only on your device and is never synced to any server.

Does Dashka work offline?

Voice recognition runs on your device using Apple's built-in framework and works without internet. The translation and voice synthesis steps require an internet connection to reach our backend. If you lose connectivity mid-session, the App will surface a clear error message and you can retry once you're back online.

In what languages does Dashka work?

Dashka Translator Lite currently supports Russian ↔ Polish. Tap the arrow button between the language flags to swap direction.
